Theatre Royal Margate isn’t just a building...

... We work outside the building with schools and businesses as well as running Youth Theatres and working with different Community
groups. Do you want to get involved? Let us know!

The Ethanol Project

 The Ethanol Project

We worked with the KCA Sunlight Project to deliver a successful new project about alcohol dependency to 20 Thanet Primary Schools.
Children had the opportunity to perform with professionals, take part in an open debate and ask questions of the experts. The project
was funded by Thanet District Council and Kent Drugs and Alcohol Action Team. I must write straight away and say a huge thank you
for the Ethanol Project which we have just watched.  The whole performance was excellent and was pitched just at the right level for
the children.  Serious issues were dealt with, with humour alongside, and the children were captivated the whole way through.

Thank you very much and we look forward to seeing you again soon. –
Ellen Butcher, Yr 6 teacher & Literacy Coordinator, Newington Community Primary

The Start Programme

The Start Programme

Theatre Royal Margate is one of 13 new arts partners in the UK to be selected to work with the Prince’s Foundation for Children and the
Arts.  Over the next academic year we will work with 700 children in 10 school s in Thanet to introduce them to professional theatre
and give them the opportunity to work with professional theatre practitioners.

Youth Theatre

We run three dynamic youth theatre groups that meet regularly for young people between the ages of 7 and 18, with opportunities for
everyone.   Members can escape to the theatre for regular sessions during term-time. If you are interested in joining or have any queries
please call Will on 01843 293397.

Teachers
Perhaps you’d like to book a workshop on Shakespeare led by professional actors who have performed at the highest level.  We can
provide superb activities for your literacy weeks or maybe you’d like to book for your drama class to come and see a show – or ask if
they can meet the actors afterwards.

We also run special Voice INSET days for teachers because we know that voice loss is one the biggest causes of days off work in the
profession. Find out if we can help you – call 01843 293397. All our workshop leaders are very experienced as well as being practising
theatre professionals. We offer theatre workshops led by experts on any aspect of the Drama curriculum. For all Education enquiries
please contact Will on 01843 293397 or by email: This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it
